Villa Sassa is a sophisticated and energetic Hotel that embraces nature and recreation, offering lakefront splendor nestled in the hills overlooking Lake Lugano.

Built in the neo-Gothic style as the summer residence of Colonel and Mayor of Lugano, Giacomo Luvini-Perseghini, in the early 19th century, it then underwent Baroque-influenced alterations around the early 20th century, when the architectural remains of the family home were incorporated into the villa in Sassa. In particular, the portal, the wrought-iron railings of the balconies, and the stone fences of the stairs in the corner located at the west end of the garden. Of the old 19th-century villa today remains the monumental plinth that supports the property and allows views of Lake Lugano, the old core of the villa, with its painted ceilings dating from the first half of the 19th century and with some Baroque elements from the old bourgeois house in Lugano, as well as some neo-Gothic elements that stand out in the gardens. Beginning in 2002, Villa Sassa set out along a path of success and popularity that has led it to become one of the best-known structures in Canton Ticino today. A residence with discreet charm, it welcomes international guests from its privileged position overlooking the enchanting Lake Lugano and its gulf.
